Navigating vocational rehabilitation: Lessons learned and possible pathways across cultural contexts
Biography
Lisa Holmlund is an assistant professor at Karolinska Institutet. Her research focuses on everyday life and worker health, with a particular emphasis on sick leave, return to work, and sustainable employment. She explores the intricate relationship between individuals and their context, especially for those facing various challenges in labor market inclusion, including individuals with SCI.
Gillean Hilton is an occupational therapist and clinical researcher. Her current work includes evaluating a peer-led Active Rehabilitation approach in Australia, establishment of international basic and extended datasets in vocational rehabilitation following SCI and in her local state context improving systems and culture to address barriers to accessing healthcare for people with disability.
Becky Hill is a vocational team leader at Back up Trust. She sustained a traumatic C5/6 SCI in 1990 when aged 17. Following her rehabilitation, she returned to school to complete her A-levels before going on to study Maths at Warwick University. An MA in Industrial Relations opened up HR as a career choice.
Eric Asaba is a professor in occupational therapy at the University of Gothenburg, with affiliations to Karolinska Institutet and Stockholms Sjukhem (Hospital).
