Overview
Reconceptualization of urinary tract infection among people with spinal cord injury and disease: diagnostic advances
Details
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common infection in individuals with spinal cord injury/disease (SCI/D) and neurogenic bladder. Traditional diagnostic methods are limited and inconsistent. This session introduces the updated 2025 International SCI UTI Basic Data Set, highlights the role of the USQNB tool in structured symptom tracking, and presents emerging evidence on novel diagnostic approaches, including bacterial metabolic activity-based testing. Participants will explore current challenges, recent updates, and future directions in UTI diagnosis in SCI/D.
Presenter (if the session has co-presenters, they will be listed in the APP)
