Biography
Dominique Tremblay is a Hand and Plastic surgeon at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, Canada. She is the head of the surgery department, and chief of Plastic surgery at University of Montreal. She has numerous achievements in reconstructive surgery. She initiated the TetraHand Montreal clinic.
Geraldine Jacquemin is a PMR specialist, with 20 years' experience in SCI care, in Canada, Europe, and in several missions abroad. She is the medical director of the SCI program at the Montreal Gingras-Lindsay Hospital and part of the TetraHand Montreal team.
Jan Fridén is a hand surgeon in Nottwil and Gothenburg. He has dedicated his entire career to improving upper limb function in individuals with tetraplegia. He has nearly 40 years of research on reconstructive tendon transfer surgery in SCI. He has been awarded The Ludwig Guttman Prize in 2016. His publication list is extensive.
Catherine Dansereau spent her career working with SCI individuals, and participating in clinical research programs. She initiated the TetraHand Montreal clinic, and acts there as physiotherapist and coordinator.
Ines Bersch, MSc, PhD, is physiotherapist and specialist in functional electrical stimulation for SCI rehabilitation. She teaches at Swiss universities and internationally, focusing on upper and lower motoneuron lesions and the application of electrical stimulation. She is the leader of the International FES Centre® at the Swiss Paraplegic Centre since 2018 where she oversees treatment, education, and research in the field of FES.
Claes Hultling is an MD, PhD, Professor at Karolinska Institut and University Hospital. He is Chief Executive Officer of the Spinalis Foundation. In 1984, he became a tetraplegic; since then, he has dedicated himself to giving a better life to spinal cord injured people. He provides insightful perspectives to patients and professionals by playing both those roles. His life mission is to promote enhanced rehabilitation and research in SCI.
