Biography
Dr. Matteo Ponzano is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies at Wayne State University (USA). His community-engaged research is dedicated to the co-development, evaluation, and real-world implementation of interventions to increase and maintain physical activity to improve physical and psychosocial health outcomes among individuals with neurological disabilities, with a particular focus on persons living with SCI and MS.
Dr. Jennifer Maher is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Nutrition, Exercise and Metabolism at the University of Bath (UK). With a background in Exercise Physiology and over 10 years of research experience in individuals with SCI, her research focuses on the prevention, management, and understanding of cardiometabolic disease in this population.
Dr. Sungchul Huh, MD and Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Research Institute for Convergence of Biomedical Science and Technology at the Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital (Korea), specializes in SCI rehabilitation, physical activity and exercise for individuals with disabilities, respiratory dysfunction, and community-based rehabilitation.
Dr. Kathleen Martin Ginis holds the Reichwald Family Chair in Preventive Medicine at University of British Columbia’s Southern Medical Program and is the Director of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management (Canada). Her research program focuses on physical activity behaviour change, and the psychosocial consequences of physical activity participation, particularly among people living with SCI.
