Biography

Dr Jane Duff, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Head of the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) Psychology Team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital has worked in SCI rehabilitation since 1996 and led the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Needs Assessment Checklist and Goal Planning Programme since 2008. The programme supports skill development and lifelong self-management of SCI/D. Dr. Kathy Zebracki is Chief of Psychology at Shriners Children’s Chicago. Her area of focus is on enhancing psychosocial functioning and quality of life of youth with spinal cord injury or dysfunction and their families through research and clinical service. She is actively involved in longitudinal, developmentally-focused research examining the processes by which spinal cord dysfunctions place physical, psychological, and social demands on individuals, and assessing these medical and psychological outcomes over time. Dr Jenny Lisshammar is a Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology and Paediatric SCI Clinical Psychologist at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Her clinical and research interest is in developing theragnostic tools at the interface between systemic, neuropsychological, and developmental domains in children and adolescents with SCI. Dr. Lawrence C. Vogel is Chief of Pediatrics/ Medical Director Emeritus of the spinal cord injury program at Shriners Children’s Chicago. He is an internationally recognized expert in pediatric SCI and has published extensively on a broad range including pathophysiology, acute management, rehabilitative care, and long-term outcomes in pediatric SCI. Naomi Bagwell is an Advanced Occupational Therapist and Lead Occupational Therapist for the children and young people’s SCI service at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital. She has been in post for the past 18 years. One of her many clinical interests includes the importance of community reintegration and participation, how this can be supported and promoted when living with SCI, enabling a young person to reach their full potential.
