Biography

Dr. GĂ©raldine Jacquemin completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training at the University of Montreal. She also completed additional fellowship training in SCI in Seattle in 2002, and a Master's in Public Health at the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp, Belgium in 2012. She is currently the Medical Director of the SCI program at the Gingras-Lindsay Rehabilitation Institute in Montreal.

Biography

Candy Tefertiller, PT, DPT, PhD, NCS, is the Executive Director of Research and Evaluation and former Director of Physical Therapy. Candy received a B.S in Biology from Mount Olive College in 1997 and a Master’s in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2000. Candy has been working in the field of neurological rehabilitation since 2000 and received an assistive technology practitioner (ATP) certification in 2005 and became a certified neurological clinical specialist (NCS) in 2007. Candy then received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain Health Care University in 2008. She has been involved in numerous research projects and has focused much of her career on interventions and program development promoting recovery after neurologic injury or disease. Candy is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Neurologic Section.

Biography

E.M. (Ellen) Maas studied medicine at the University of Maastricht, where she obtained her doctor's degree in 1999. She completed her training as a rehabilitation physician in 2006 at Roessingh Center for Rehabilitation in Enschede, the Netherlands. Since 2012, she has been working as a rehabilitation physician at the spinal cord injury unit of Roessingh. She is specialized in upper extremity function, tetrahand surgery and treatment of spasticity in people with cervical spinal cord injury.

Biography

Dr. Thomas Bryce is the Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program at Mount Sinai. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has sub-specialty certification in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. He is involved with research related to spinal cord injury especially as it relates to the assessment of pain and neurological function after spinal injury. He is the principle investigator of several ongoing studies in these areas. He has authored numerous chapters and scientific articles on spinal cord injury.
