Biography

Dr Jenny Lisshammar is a Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology, Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist, she holds Foundation Level Accreditation in Systemic Family Therapy and is the Clinical Psychologist for the paediatric service at the NSIC. Her research interests lay in the interface between neurophysiological, systemic, and developmental domains of childhood, and their influence on long-term wellbeing outcomes. Her publications focus on development of theragnostic clinical tools with high translational value. Ruxandra Vasile is a final-year Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the Oxford Institute for Clinical Psychology Training and Research and is on a 12 month specialist placement on the paediatric ward at the NSIC. She has worked in a range of settings and across the lifespan throughout her training. On her specialist placement, she is responsible for providing direct clinical therapy to CYP in rehabilitation and is working on a consultancy project to develop the Stoke Mandeville Spinal Needs Assessment Checklist for children (SMS-NAC-ch). Dr Jane Duff is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Head of the NSIC Psychology Team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. She has worked in SCI rehabilitation since 1996 providing direct clinical therapy, research, teaching/training, and consultancy. Dr Duff led the development of the adult Psychological and Mental Health Standards and was Chair of SCIPAG from 2015-2022, Chairs the European Spinal Psychologists Association (ESPA) and ISCoS Psychosocial Special Interest Group, and is a member of the ISCoS Psychological Dataset Group. Dr Duff’s publications concern coping and adjustment, appraisals, quality of life, rehabilitation/goal planning and self-management skills in SCI/D. Dr Duff oversees the NSIC children and young people psychology service and development and provides clinical supervision for Dr Lisshammar and is a research and co-placement clinical supervisor for Ruxandra Vasile, alongside Dr Samar Saleh.

Biography

Kathy Zebracki, Ph.D. is Chief of Psychology at Shriners Children’s Chicago, Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and Clinical Professor of Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She received her BS from Northwestern University and MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Zebracki completed her psychology residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago (now Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago) and fellowship at Loyola University Chicago. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Divisions of Pediatric Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology) and of the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA). Dr. Zebracki is an active clinician, researcher, and educator. Her clinical interests are in the care of youth with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions. Her research is in the area of psychosocial and medical outcomes of youth with spinal cord dysfunctions, including spinal cord injury and spina bifida. She also serves as a clinical and research mentor for clinical psychology doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Zebracki is the Editor-in-Chief of Topics in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation and an Associate Editor of Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology. She is on the Board of Directors of Steel Assembly for Pediatric Spinal Cord Injury and Dysfunction and formerly on the Boards of ASIA, Illinois Spina Bifida Association, and American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. Dr. Zebracki has authored over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, 15 book chapters, and 160 presentations at national and international meetings. Dr. Zebracki is a Co-Editor of the textbooks Spinal Cord Injury in the Child and Young Adult and Paediatric Neuropsychology within the Multidisciplinary Context.
